Sharon Madigan Kalinoski, age 78, of Commack, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 23, 1947, in Hempstead, NY, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary (Wasielewski) Madigan.
Sharon was a devoted wife to Stanley Kalinoski for 54 years. She was a loving mother who dedicated her life to her family while also pursuing a successful career as an administrator for various companies on Long Island, including Grumman. Sharon instilled thoughtful standards in her children, and each morning as they headed off to school or left the house, she would lovingly ask, “What are you going to do today?” to which they would respond, “My best.” She was actively involved in her children’s education, participating in school programs and PTAs throughout her sons’ academic years.
Sharon found great joy in library programs and was actively involved in church programs throughout her life. Her faith was an important cornerstone of her daily life, and she shared that devotion with her family and community. She participated in her church’s Loaves & Fishes ministry, serving meals to the homeless in New York City. She was passionate about religious education and taught religious education classes, sharing her faith with young people in her community. She held a special devotion to Padre Pio, one of her favorite saints, and often reflected on his words: “Pray, hope, and don’t worry.” Her generosity was felt by all, whether through thoughtful gifts and gestures or through her time and talent.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Philip Theodore Casimir Kalinoski, who passed away in March 2023.
Remaining to cherish Sharon’s memory are her devoted husband, Stanley Kalinoski; her sons, Keith and Luke Kalinoski; her daughters-in-law, Kathy and Kate Kalinoski; her grandchildren, Oliver and Lily Kalinoski; her step-grandchildren, Rachel and Andrew; four step-great-grandchildren; and all cherished family and friends who were blessed to know her gentle spirit and loving heart.
