Girolamo (Jerry) Colonna, age 95, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025.
Beloved husband, father and brother.
Jerry was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 16, 1929, to Giuseppe and Antonetta (Cicolo) Colonna.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his dear sister, Marie Felicia and her husband Joe Felicia.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Joan (Nifosi)Colonna and his loving sons Joseph (Mercedes), Jerry (Claire) and daughter Diane.
Jerry proudly served as a highly decorated sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War. After his return, he was employed by the US Treasury Department printing currency followed by employment as a lithographer in New York City. He married his wife Joan in Brooklyn, New York, where they raised three children before moving to Rosedale, New York.
Upon retirement Jerry and Joan relocated to Las Vegas, near their loving daughter Diane. There they both selflessly volunteered for over 20 years at several local hospitals, in charge of the Board of Volunteers, the Emergency Department Volunteers and Gift Shops. As their favorite pastime they loved playing high stakes Bingo regularly, and if you asked Jerry, if he liked living in Las Vegas, his answer was always no, I LOVE IT!
This world was a much greater place because of Jerry, and he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
